Kid Sand Box with Bones

Kid Sand Box with Bones

Ok folks, so I have moved out to Erlanger, KY to begin the first three months of my training with Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America Incorporated.  I just like to call it Toyota.  I have been here since Friday which was the 7th of July.  My parents helped me move and while they were here, we did some sightseeing.

This photograph is of mastadon and bison bones (fossils?) at the Big Bone Lick State Park in Kentucky.  We had read in a brochure about the great find of dinosaur bones at this park and thought we would check it out.  What you are seeing precisely in that photograph are those “dinosaur bones” in a poorly maintained weedy little box on the ground.  Hmmph.  No dinosaur bones there.  Just uninteresting artifacts.  So if you’re ever in the area, I recommend just driving by it.

About Kentucky.  They have drive through alcohol stores.  They have White Castle burgers and 5/3rd banks.  You can’t recycle here, plastic things were meant to pile up and clutter the earth.  Change for these folks is like rubbing a cat backwards.  People fish in little ponds of water that have sewer outlets in them for parking lot runoff from a horse track.  The city (Cincinnati) is very segregated as I’m told.  I have been waived at by prostitutes and there are a lot of homeless folk and supposedly gangs.  I passed a shady fellow on the Purple People Bridge who was making strange noises and about to spit mucous all over the place.

I will have to write about Toyota another day, because that’s a different subject.  This space was just to give you a taste of Kentucky.
